I am currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Universiti Putra Malaysia. I have worked in the Faculty of Computer Sciences and Information Technology, UPM since 2005. Have an experience in industry as an application programmer at Telekom Applied Business Sdn. Bhd. Malaysia, involved in building a KIOSK system for MAMPU, Malaysia and Payphone system for Telekom Malaysia.I obtained a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, a Master of Computer Science in Artificial Intelligence form Universiti Malaya and a PhD from the University of Nottingham, UK with thesis title "An An Exploration of the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) in Modelling Survival".

My research interest is in computational intelligent techniques and application, primarily in the context of medical. My works to date is on utilizing the intelligent techniques to model the prediction of cancer patients. The main interest is to transfer the medical intelligent systems into clinical use by applying and evaluating the intelligent techniques to see the mechanisms of implementation. Machine learning in clustering, classification and etc. are some others areas of my research interest.

Field of specialization: Computational intelligence, machine learning, survival analysis.
